Special Education

I offer two types of services:

1. IEP Consultation Service:

Clients may meet with me either before the IEP meeting to discuss a strategy, or after the IEP meeting to discuss what was offered and what to do next, or both.

Those families who have had no luck in the IEP process or who have repeated violations of their child’s due process rights may choose to go ahead and file a due process complaint. In these cases, we can file a due process complaint on your child’s behalf and provide representation through mediation.

2. Due Process Complaint and Representation Service:

• One-hour consultation with Attorney

• Review of current IEP and/or IEP offer

• Develop legal strategy for IEP meeting, and/or due process complaint

• Draft and file due process complaint

• Attorney attendance at mediation

• Settlement negotiations prior to pre-hearing conference statements

Options available if settlement is not reached and parent wants to proceed to due process hearing:

• Pre-hearing conference & statement

• Hearing, each day

• Closing brief
