Alternatives to a Limited Conservatorship

Just like your adult child with a developmental disability, one size does not fit all. And, maybe a Limited Conservatorship isn’t the right choice for your family. We believe strongly in least restrictive options and self-determination, limited conservatorship isn’t your only option.

Here are a couple of alternatives aside from a Limited Conservatorship:

Supported Decision Making

Power of Attorney
Supported Decision Making is just what its name says. This allows your adult child to make decisions with the help of their circle of support. Power of Attorney would give you, or another designated person, the authority to act for your child in specified or all legal or financial matters.

Finding the right fit for your family can be tough but, it’s an important step in supporting your adult child with developmental disabilities.
